To Aspire & Inspire…
It’s time to embrace that inner cave person, so go grab an axe and make something magical from green wood with your hands, head and heart!
This course is an opportunity to slow down & take a step back into the rural craft life of the village carpenter from yesteryear. During this totally ‘hands on’ experience you will learn many traditional green wood working skills & the use of the old fashioned woodland tools to help make a piece of rustic garden furniture. It’s a very enjoyable, inspirational and highly rewarding way to spend a day, in my workshop in a barn on a farm in North West Leicestershire in the company of the village carpenter Ian Varley.
Either Half Day or Full Day packages are available for individuals or groups, we also offer fun & funky childerns party packages.
We also have a schools experience package which can involve a team building challenge & the use of a portable ‘woodland shelter’ set up as a workshop at your venue.

Rustic Carpentry Workshops – for Schools and Clubs
Aimed at schools, clubs, families and individuals, we offer tailor made workshops, focusing on the traditional countryside craft of green woodworking, bushcraft skills & woodland games. Our ‘hands on’ workshops are primarily aimed at anyone wanting to have a go at learning techniques & working ‘Green Wood’ using traditional skills & hand tools.
Try your hands at making, milk stools, camping tent pegs & mallets and walking sticks.
Workshops take place at our “HQ” based near Barrow on Soar. Our Workshops last from between one and a half to six hours. Please Contact us for more details.
The aim of our green workshop is to provide an educational insight into the way our rural environment has been shaped over the years with practical, hands-on activities. We hope that the experience builds confidence, inspires and generates an awareness of our natural environment. We also think that it will be good fun and confidence building.
Each workshop can be tailored to your specific needs but due to practical restrictions we suggest participants are 5 years and above. A 1:6 ratio is recommended, allowing the participants to work in partnerships, however, larger groups can be catered for as well. Full CRB checks are in place.
